Is Yosh Konjac Sponge suitable for daily use?
Yes. The Sponge can be used daily or even twice a day as part of your regular morning and evening cleansing routine.
Can I use Yosh Konjac Sponge if I have acne-prone skin?
Absolutely. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, we would recommend the Bamboo Charcoal Konjac Puff/ Sponge as it is infused with natural bamboo charcoal powder which is known to be effective in drawing excess dirt and sebum out of pores. Alternatively, the Green Tea Konjac Puff/ Sponge is also suitable as it contains natural antioxidants and anti-bacterial agents to help suppress acne-causing bacteria.
Can I use Yosh Konjac Sponge if I have sensitive skin?
Yes. Yosh Konjac Sponge is made of pure natural Konjac vegetable fibre which makes it suitable even for the most sensitive skin. If you have very sensitive skin, we would recommend using the Original White Konjac Puff/ Sponge as that is our softest and gentlest sponge.
Can Yosh Konjac Sponge be used to bathe infants and children?
Yes. Given how gentle they are, Konjac Sponges have actually been used by the Japanese to bathe new born babies for over a century now. We recommend our Konjac Baby Sponge (or even our Original White Konjac Puff) for this particular purpose.
Do I need to apply cleanser/ soap when using Yosh Konjac Sponge?
If you have make up on, it is recommended that a cleanser and/or make up remover be used with the Sponge to ensure all traces of make up are appropriately removed. However, if you have no make up on (for example, first thing in the morning), it is sufficient to just use the Sponge on its own without any cleanser or soap for a 100% natural facial cleansing experience. Body Sponges can be used with or without soap depending on your personal preference.
How long will Yosh Konjac Sponge last?
With proper use and care, Yosh Konjac Sponge will last up to 6 weeks, after which replacement is recommended for best cleansing results.
How would I disinfect my Yosh Konjac Sponge?
The Sponge can be disinfected simply by soaking it into hot water for approximately 5 minutes on a weekly basis.
What could I do to ensure my Yosh Konjac Sponge does not break apart prematurely?
It is very important to ensure the Sponge is hung up in a well-ventilated area and allowed to dry in between each use. Please do not let the sponge sit on the sink or counter-top as this would not allow the sponge to dry properly. Alternatively, you could place the Sponge in a sealed container and put it in the fridge in between each use. However, the first option of hanging the Sponge to dry is definitely recommended over the second option of putting it in the fridge. When cleansing your face or body with the Sponge, it is best to try and hold it in the palm of your hands and avoid using excessive (if any) fingertip pressure. Constant fingertip pressure would eventually poke holes into the Sponge causing it to break apart prematurely. When draining out water from the Sponge after each use, please do not wring. It is best to squeeze the Sponge gently between the palm of your two hands to drain out the excess water. Just remember that gentle usage is the key for a longer-lasting Konjac Sponge.
What should I do if the string on my Konjac Sponge falls out?
It is sometimes possible for the string to become undone and fall out of the Sponge when it becomes saturated with water. To prevent this from happening, an extra knot could be tied to the string prior to your first use in order to strengthen the knot. If your string has already fallen out, you could simply slip the end of the string through a bobby pin and let the pin guide the string through the hole of the Konjac Sponge to re-tie the knot.
Can I use Yosh Konjac Sponge in its dry form?
Definitely not. The Sponge is not meant to be used in its dry form. Please ensure it is soaked in water and has completely softened prior to usage. The dry Sponge would be way too harsh against your delicate skin!
Did “Natural Konjac Sponge Company” become “Yosh Konjac Sponge”?
Yes! Yosh Konjac Sponge was formerly known as Natural Konjac Sponge Company. A massive re-branding exercise took place in early 2015 to give our company a new look complete with a new name, new packaging and a new website. The Sponges themselves, however, are still the same gentle and effective sponges you remember them to be.
Why are the online prices quoted in USD?
Despite being a Canadian company, a lot of our operating expenses like packaging and marketing are actually incurred in USD. As such, our online prices have been quoted in USD to help reduce our exposure to foreign exchange fluctuations. This prevents the need to adjust our online prices every time the exchange rate changes.
Why are the online orders being shipped from Hong Kong?
Our Shipping Office is located in Hong Kong. Given our Sponges are made in Japan and we sell our Sponges globally, Hong Kong has been used as a hub to safely house our inventory and to efficiently ship orders to our customers worldwide.
